This service allows investors to go through the proper steps required to close any existing commercial establishment associated with them. For the companies, the investor may close the whole company with all of its related main commercial registration (CR) and implicitly all of the related branch CRs or select a subset of the branch CRs to be closed only. Also, the service facilitates the liquation process that is mandatory for the establishment of a company legal structure. Lastly, it enables closing a commercial permit either explicitly on its own or implicitly if the related CR will be closed.

  • The applicant shall have a registered account in the National Authentication System “Tawtheeq” with a valid Qatari ID.
  • There shall be no ban on any of the partners or the owner imposed by the official authorities in the country.
  • The applicant must be associated with at least one non-terminated commercial permit or a commercial registration.
  • The CR or the CP shall be renewed before being eligible or deletion.
  • The Ministry of Commerce and Industry may automatically cancel CRs and CPs that have not been renewed after notifying the listed stakeholders and the legal grace period elapses.
  • Fill out the application, including data and attachments.
  • Receive the application and verify it automatically through the Single Window systems and service providers.
  • Review the application and decide on it through the government entities providing the service.
  • Pay fees electronically on the Single Window portal (in case of liquidation or closing a branch CR only, i.e. not required if closing a main CR or a CP).
  • Receive the certificates and original copies electronically through the Single Window.
  • In case of closing a main CR of a company, the process is done over two stages: Liquidation then Closing the main CR.

Document Condition
Owner/Partners Consent on the Closure If the company legal type was not shareholding.
OR if the CR is for an individual establishment.

No Objection Letter from the General Tax Authority to Delete CR / Organization If the main establishment (i.e. the main CR or the professional office) is marked for deletion and if the nationality of the owner or any of the partners (whether legal or natural partner) or the licensee of a professional office is neither Qatari nor GCC (excluding Oman) or the legal type is a branch of a foreign company or a representative office.
Approval of the Ministry of Labour  
No Objection Letter from Closing CR From each government agency that has active block decree on the company or any of its branches.
Approval from the General Authority for Minors Affairs In case the Owner or the Partner is a Minor.
